All the timber used for our cladding comes from sustainable managed forests

Cladding
Renowned for its natural durability, insulation qualities and dimensional stability the external timber is the finest engineered tongue and groove cladding available. Solid lengths of kiln-dried French Douglas are machined, finger jointed and glued (waterproof resourcinol glue) to form a glulaminated board. The timber is then vacuum pressure treated and given a further slow heat treatment.
The timber is certified and has a 10-year structural guarantee with full technical specification, including a fire rating. No other timber offers such a comprehensive specification. Vertical cladding has been chosen for its superior weathering properties, faster rain run-off times and better moisture resistance. Stainless steel fixings are used in attaching the cladding to the main timber frame, ensuring no compromise on the durability of the structure. The cladding's pale, warm brown colour gives a highly desirable aesthetic appeal, which, over time, will weather to a pale silvery grey patina. Although not necessary, the cladding can be stained or coated as desired, introducing a low level of maintenance as required. Western Red Cedar, Larch and European Oak cladding is available on request.
