Flooring

We provide, as standard, an environmentally-friendly engineered semi-solid Oak floor. To improve acoustic and thermal performance, a layer of foam insulation (underlay) is fitted between the sub-floor and the underside of the engineered Oak floor. The Oak boards are factory finished in a lacquer to provide a hard- wearing easy to clean surface. Engineered Oak flooring is produced by bonding together a layer of solid wood (the face or wear layer) to a plywood base. Each layer is stacked in a cross-grain configuration and bonded together under heat and pressure. As a result, engineered Oak flooring is far less likely to be affected by varying levels of heat, humidity, and moisture and is suited for electric underfloor heating which we can provide as an optional extra.
