The floor joists are in-filled with high performance housing grade insulation and span the foundation system.

Fixed with screws to avoid squeaking, a sub-floor of OSB3 interlocking sheeting is fitted. This is suitable for finishing in laminate, carpet, linoleum, tiling or a solid wood floor. A high density galvanised rodent-proof steel mesh, underpinned to the joists, protects the flooring material, supports the insulation and provides the required ventilation.

The floor is finished around the perimeter with a metal trim flashing to integrate the walls and floor and to protect the floor and foundation.
