Technical Internal Finish

Standard internal finishings of our garden rooms

The internal walls and ceiling are dry lined with plasterboard. This is skim coated to provide a smooth seamless finish. The walls, ceiling, skirtings and window and door architraves are decorated with two coats of white matt emulsion. Our standard floor finish is an engineered semi-solid Oak floor.

We provide, as standard, an environmentally-friendly engineered semi-solid Oak floor. To improve acoustic and thermal performance, a layer of foam insulation (underlay) is fitted between the sub-floor and the underside of the engineered Oak floor. The Oak boards are factory finished in a lacquer to provide a hard-wearing easy to clean surface. Engineered Oak flooring is produced by bonding together a layer of solid wood (the face or wear layer) to a plywood base. Each layer is stacked in a cross-grain configuration and bonded together under heat and pressure. As a result, engineered Oak flooring is far less likely to be affected by varying levels of heat, humidity, and moisture and is suited for electric underfloor heating which we can provide as an optional extra.

We provide as standard two coats of white matt emulsion paint to the walls and ceiling. The skirtings, window & door architraves and internal doors (if applicable) are also decorated in white as standard. The main window and door frames are factory finished, as standard, in a slate grey colour.

Partitions & Internal Doors

If you would like to subdivide your garden room to form separate rooms, perhaps a storage area, bathroom, kitchen area or even a bedroom, we can provide internal stud wall partitions to create the layout you desire. You can use our online configurator drawing tool to create the layout of your choice. The internal partitions will be plasterboarded, skim coated and decorated to the same standard as the main walls. We provide, as standard, hinged internal flush doors complete with locks and chrome door handles. You can upgrade to space saving sliding pocket doors. Extra space is immediately created with the room "behind the door" available as useful space for chairs, tables, bookcases, whatever you please. The greatest advantage of all is not fully apparent until you see the finished installation and that is the feeling of increased space that is created when the door slides into the wall and no longer intrudes into the room space - it really is incredible how it changes rooms and to many of our customers this is the greatest advantage of all.

We carry out professional tiling with a 12 months guaranteed finish. You can select one of our colour options for bathroom tiling, priced according to the design. A ceramic tiled floor for your main room is available upon request, at an additional cost.
